A Much-Needed Respite for the Alejos Family

The high cost of food is a major contributor to the hunger and food insecurity that taxes the lives of so many individuals and families throughout Los Angeles County. Alberto Alejos, a client of our trusted partners at the North Valley Caring Services Food Pantry, shared his struggles with the high cost of groceries.

"When we go to the market, we spend $50 -$100 on a small bag of groceries," he said.

This staggering cost of food makes it hard for parents to provide for their families. Food Bank distributions offer a much-needed respite for families facing these struggles.

Alberto told us, "This helps us because we get a variety of food, and we don’t spend as much on groceries. We have three kids, so this helps a lot."
